World Breast Feeding Week – 1st August 2016 to 7th August 2016
World Breast feeding week was observed by TNAI, Maharashtra state Branch in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson from 1st August 2016 to 7th August 2016. The theme for this year was “Breastfeeding – A key to sustainable development”. The program was organised at various units of TNAI in Maharashtra

Awareness about Breastfeeding, its importance, advantages, Techniques of feeding, care of breast, Problems in Breast feeding and post natal diet for mother was detailed to mothers attending postnatal and antenatal OPDs. Quiz competition and slogan writing competitions were held for trained nurses. Poster exhibits and role plays were performed to various groups by the students and Trained Nurses. Health talks helped to reinforce the knowledge of Breast feeding. The Johnson and Johnson presented a short video on Baby massage and skin care. Poster competition on Breastfeeding were held and prizes were awarded to best posters. Pamphlets and fortified ladoos were distributed to the post natal mothers during the program.
The TNAI thank the management of Johnson and Johnson for their support for the program. It also extends thanks to students, trained nurses of various Hospitals and training Institutes and their management for success of the program.
