XXVII TNAI Biennial State Conference

The feasibility of organization of TNAI Biennial state conference at PIMS – DU College of Nursing was discussed and deliberated with the TNAI executive members on 03.08.2018 and decided to organize in the September 2018 and the same was communicated to Hon’ble Dr Rajendra Vikhe Patil, Pro chancellor of PIMS – DU and Hon’ble Dr Y M Jayaraj, Vice Chancellor of PIMS – DU and got the formal approval for hosting the conference.
Hon’ble Smt Swarnatai Rajendra Vikhe Patil madam was the chief guest and Hon’ble Dr Y M Jayaraj Vice Chancellor of PIMS was the guest of honor for the inaugural function, where the conference ‘e souvenir’ was released with the auspicious hands of chief guest; as well as a text book on ‘Nursing Research and Statistics’ penned by Dr T Sivabalan and G Vimala also was released. During inaugural function National Florence Nightingale 2018 awardee were felicitated for the exemplary work and contribution in nursing profession and two best teacher award was honored.
The scientific sessions of the conference include a) Seminar session on Oversees employment – what nurses needs to know, b) Panel discussion sessions – Panel discussion I – Nurse Practitioner: A Revolution for Global Nursing, Panel discussion II – Global Standards For Nursing Education and Panel discussion III – Developing leadership for Global Nursing c) Skill stations – BCLS and ACLS and NALS and PALS and d) Elocution competition on Theme: Stop the violence – Protect Health Care Workers, around 18 participants were participated under the category of English, Marathi and Hindi language. The resource persons (Dr Usha Ukande, Dr Balchandra Kulkarni, Dr Ravindra HN, Dr Khurusid Jamadar, Dr Vaishali Mohite, Dr Joythi Dube, Dr Shrinath Kulkarni, Mr Ajinas, Lt Col V Radha and Dr T Sivabalan) were invited across India from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi. Along with academic and professional events a cultural feast was organized by students of CON for the delegates on the first day evening of the conference. The ‘selfi corner’ was fashioned where the participants can take their selfi individually or with friends in a designated place with conference banner.
A total of 240 delegates across Maharashtra state from Loni (Bk), Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Aurangabad, Latur, Mumbai, Thane, Karad and Kolhapur district’s. The prize winners of the elocution competition were awarded the cash prize and certificate alongside the lucky draw was done and two lucky delegates (from Ahmednagar and Mumbai district) were won the lucky prizes.
Dr Saroj V Upasani, Professor emeritus of Sri Gokule Institute of Nursing and leading nursing professional was the chief guest for the valedictory function and all prize winners, resource persons are felicitated during the function. The retired two staff nurses of PRH was felicitated and awarded for their noteworthy contribution in nursing.
The Himalaya natural products company, CBS Book Company and Paithani cloth center had stalls at the conference venue and sponsored for the conference. The supportive departments of PMT such as civil, electrical, electronics, agriculture, sanitary, art and photography and security departments had supported to make the conference a grand success.
