Minutes of the XXVII SNA Biennial Conference was held from 5th October 2017 to 7th October 2017 at MGM Institute of Nursing Education, Aurangabad
On the 4th of October 2017 – Preconference meeting held of all the executive committee and chairperson and responsible person for each Competition evaluation format discussed Preparation for each competition assessed and round taken for Preparedness and accommodation.
On the 5th of October 2017 – Registration of participant began from 8am to 10am. Display of Exhibits from 9 am to 12 noon at College building, 2nd floor.
The Competition inauguration was done by former chief minister of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj Chavan.
The debate and essay competition were held from 10am to 12 noon in Einstein Hall. The topic for essay was “Organ donation” the response was overwhelming it was conducted in three Languages – Marathi, English and Hindi.
S.N.A election was conducted between 2 to 3 pm and new office bearers elected and the names of new office bearers declared during valedictory session.
Quiz Competition conducted from 3 to 5 pm which was enjoyed by everyone and improved every ones knowledge. 28 teams participated and top 6 teams were selected for the quiz rounds.
Personality Contest began at 6 pm. 27 female, 7 male candidates participated which was followed by cultural programme by the Host branch. The day ended with dinner.
On the 6th of October 2017, 7 am to 10 am Sports Competition was held at MGM college ground. The business session began at 10am Points regarding membership, Scholarship and stipend of the students were discussed.
The inauguration ceremony began at 11 am with invocation song. Welcome speech was given by Mrs. Sunita Kulkarni, Vice President, T.N.A.I, State Branch, which was followed by Introduction of Chief Guest Mr. Ankushrao Kadam, Vice Secretary, MGM Trust and Guest of Honor, Dr. Gaikwad, Public Health Officer, Aurangabad and felicitation of dignitaries was followed by Lamp lighting of the lamp.
Unfolding of theme “Empowering nurses through advanced technology” was done by Dr. Anuradha Mhaske, Director MGM, MTCN. She emphasized on the need of nurses getting technology savvy to improve quality which is the need of the hour.
Souvenir was released by the chief guest. S.N.A biennial reportwas presented by State S.N.A Advisor Ms. Meena Patole.
TNAI national level Florence Nightingale awardeeswere felicitated by Chief Guest Mr. Ankushrao Kadam. Address by Guest of honour Mr. Gaikwad followed where he appreciated efforts of organizer and TNAI member and stressed the importance of nursing as grass root level.
In his address, Chief Guest Mr. Ankushrao Kadam welcomed all the participant to their institute and wished success for the Conference.
Vote of thanks was given by Host branch.
Scientific session I (Panel Discussion) presented by ANM students of Savangi Meghe College of Nursing, Wardha, on the topic “Impact of empowering Technology on Primary Health Care” which was discussed well by ANM Students to get connected and importance of telecommunication was highlighted.
Scientific paper Presentation done by three Units who won at state level.
1) L.T. College of Nursing, Mumbai
2) Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune
3) Bel-Air College of Nursing, Panchgani
5 to 8 pm Talent Night Competition was held. Performance by the students from different units of Maharashtra was there followed by Gala dinner.
7th October 2017, 9 am to 10 am – Scientific Session II ( Panel Discussion) presented by MGM’s, GNM students on the topic “Empowering Students for quality nursing care with advanced Technology” which was presented very well, giving various examples of saving time with technology. Scientific session III (Panel Discussion)was presented by B.Sc Nursing students of Bel-Air College of Nursing on the topic “Impact of advanced technology in nursing education” since this college have foreign exchange programme they shared the Indian and western Scenario and presented in well organized manner.
From 12 to 2 pm – all the SNA Units presented their report through small PPT presentation. Valedictory session began at 3pm with prayer song, welcome speech by faculty of MGM Hospital. Presidential Address delivered by Mrs. Swapna Joshi where the emphasized on what TNAI is doing for the nurses.
Chief Guest for this programme was Dr. Pravin Suryawanshi, Deputy Dean/ CEO, MGM MCH/ MCRI .In hisspeech in his speech he emphasized to use technology wisely and there should be constructive use of technology. Prizes were distributed for the competitions that were held during the conference. Two students gave their response of the conference experience
The newly elected SNA office delegates were welcomed. TNAI Maharashtra State Branch felicitated all the chairperson of various committees. Mrs. Shilpa Shettigar TNAI executive proposed the vote and thanks.
Programme ended with National Anthem.
