Regional Nursing Workshop
Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute – Mira Road (E) Dist Thane, conducted a one-day Regional Nursing workshop on 10th December 2019 in collaboration with TNAI Maharashtra State Branch. The topic was “The Art and Science of Garbhasamskar”. Role of a Nurse in Delivering Healthy, Intelligent child.
The Session started at 8.30 am with Prayers, lamp lighting ceremony, and the keynote address was given by Dr. Sivaprasad Gourabathini, Deputy Director – Medical Services (Bhaktivedanta Hospital and Research Institute)
The Session continued with the Art and Science Garbhasamkar by Dr. Komal Dalal, MBBS, Acupuncture Specialist. All the sessions were conducted by the Inhouse Consultants).
Nurse Role – Diet and lifestyle in pregnancy was conducted by Dr. Nanasaheb Memane, M.S Ayurved Dhanwantri.
Yoga in pregnancy – Pre and Post Delivery was conducted by Dr. Sonal Memane, B.A.M.S Ayurvedacharya. Our understanding about Yoga is some deep breathing and stretching but the importance of Yoga in pregnancy was discussed in detail and everyone could witness it by acquiring that knowledge.
There was also a session conducted by Dr. Kamalapriya Thiyagarajan, M.D., D.G.O (OBGY) on Unborn Patient “Save Me”.
Common Problem in Babycare by Dr. Sandeep Garg M.D, Paed. DNB, Fellowship of Pediatric Cardiology was conducted which gave us the minute details that we should observe while providing care to the Baby.
We were very glad to have Madam Surekha Sawant, President TNAI Maharashtra State Branch for the workshop. Sumptuous Food was served in lunch.
Panel Discussion on “Alarming Increase in C – Section rate, why? “ was conducted and the speakers were expert Gynecologist and Nursing Faculty.
We were really very glad to have our senior-most Nursing Faculty Mrs. Pravina Mahadalkar Prof and HOD Bharatiya Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University College of Nursing, Pune.
Dr.Jyoti Avinash Salunkhe Mam Prof and Dean (Academics) Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed to be university Karad.
The other speakers were Dr. Mrs. Urmila Sankhe Mam, Dr. Yogini Patil, and Dr. Vaishali Choudhari, moderator was Mrs. Bindu Gyani Clinical Supervisor Department of OBG.
Presentation on Episiotomy was done by Dr. Poonam Patil, M.B.B.S D.G.O (Clinical Assistant)
Hands-on training workstation was conducted after the presentation by the Clinical Assistant, Residential Medical officers along with the Senior Staff Nurses of the Department of OBGY.
We had arranged 4 tables with the provision of suturing Articles 4 on each table. The participants were divided into 4 groups. The Session went on very smoothly. The participants could redemonstrate the procedure independently.
A practical Yoga session was conducted by Ms. Surabhi Rathod, a Yoga therapist. The participants also witnessed the recitation of Bhagavad Gita Shlokas along with our Antenatal Counsellor Mrs. Dipti Naik.
Vote of Thanks was delivered with deepest gratitude to each and every person who took out their valuable time in attending the workshop.
