Report on State Level Nutrition Quiz Competition
As a part of National Nutrition Month celebration, Seva Mandal Education Society’s , Smt Sunanda Pravin Gambhirchand college of Nursing organised an Online Nutrition Quiz Competition in collaboration with Trained Nurses Association Of India (Maharashtra State Branch) on 17thSeptember 2021. There were total 107 registration from all over nursing colleges of Maharashtra from various courses (ANM, GNM and BSc Nursing ).
The Quiz master for the Quiz Competition was Ms.Paulomi Desai (Senior Lecturer, Physical Fitness and weight management, Dr.BMN college of Home Sciences, Matunga Mumbai). The quiz competition was overall co-ordinated by Ms.Sona Somasundaran, Ms.Priyanka Gomale and Ms.Sonam Gupta (Clinical Instructor, SMES SSPGCON). It was graced with the presence of Ms Prachi Dharap (Secretary, Trained Nurses Association of India, Maharashtra State Branch) and Mrs. Shilpa Shettigar (Principal Incharge, SMES, SSPGCON ) who addressed the participants and conveyed their best wishes for the competition.
The Quiz competition began with the introduction of the quiz master, Ms.Paulomi Desai, Senior Faculty, Nutrition department, Dr. BMN college of Home Sciences. The instruction for the quiz competition was announced by the quiz master.
The Quiz consisted of 4 rounds covering the topics of nutrition (Rashtriya Poshan Maa, Recommended Dietary Allowances, supplementary feeding). The Qualifying round (round 1) for the quiz was conducted on 15th September 2021 via google form, from which 54 participants were qualified for the final round. The final Round was conducted on 17th September 2021.Final round included (round 2- MCQ round and Round 3-Rapid Fire round). Top 10 participants qualifying round 2 was promoted to round 3. Round 3 – Rapid fire round was conducted online via zoom. Top three winners were selected from B.Sc. Nursing, GNM /ANM nursing. The Competition concluded with a valedictory function, Mrs. Ratna Deore (State SNA Advisor) announced the results of the competition .All the award winners were congratulated by madam. Madam appreciated all the participants for their overwhelming response towards participating in quiz competition. The initiative taken by the host college and the Quiz Master for organising and co-ordinating the quiz competition was highly appreciated. A feedback session was conducted, the paticipants shared their experiences about virtual quiz competition. The glimpses of the quiz competition was presented by Ms.Priyanka Gomale. Overall the state level Quiz competition was a great success. There was good feedback from the participants .The session ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Sonam Gupta (Clinical Instructor, SMES, SSPGCON).
